Winters Beauty
Sorry for the recent lack of posts, but I was away on a little winter break! No I did not go anywhere warm, we drove up to the mountains for a little bit of skiing, some ice skating and lots of relaxing! We spent three days in one of our favorite places, the Chateau Lake Louise, getting spoiled and pampered while enjoying the majestic Rockies. Here is the view from our hotel room.
It was cold but bright and sunny during the entire three days. This ice sculpture on the skating area of the lake was really neat!
Check out this massive icicle that my son is holding!
There was a ton of snow up there.....but it sure was beautiful!

Spring Color 2011
I know that Spring is still technically several weeks away, and for some of us it will be a lot longer than March 21st, before any signs of life emerge from the frozen ground! However, I think it is always nice to look forward to what is around the corner....especially if it is regarding fashion and color. Today, I am previewing the top colors for Spring 2011, as reported by Pantone. Pantone, is recognized throughout the world as the leading source of color information, and is the global authority on color. These are the colors that you will see arriving in all the clothing stores the next few weeks. These are also colors that will be prominent in cosmetics, and eventually in home decor. Spring 2011 is full of vibrant happy colors, that are going to add some punch to your wardrobe! For more information about Pantone LLC and PANTONE® Products, visit www.pantone.com.
The first hue, is Honeysuckle, a gorgeous pinkish red that I am sure will flatter and up lift everyone after a long winter. This pretty color is already getting a lot of attention, and is said to be THE color for the season. Pair thisl with darker colors like chocolate or charcoal grey early in the season and then switch it up with white and soft neutrals like khaki for summer. Not bold enough to wear this color...then how about accessorizing with some jewelry in this color, or perhaps a scarf? Even a lipstick in this shade would be a gorgeous pop of color to your Spring face!
How about these gorgeous combinations?
These colors will make you smile AND get rid of your Winter doldrums! Pairing cool Regatta Blue with the new "sophisticated orange " called Coral Rose, or combining warm Beeswax Yellow with Blue Curacao will get you the attention you deserve! These refreshing colors remind me of a tropical vacation, and will definitely add "oomph" to your Spring and Summer wardrobe!
Pretty Peapod green and soft Lavender brings forth images of a Spring garden...........
This playful pallet will look fabulous with any of the neutrals for the season. I love the beautiful ethereal soft hues of Silver Cloud and Silver Peony, as well as the deep practical tones of Russet, which is a lovely chocolate brown color.
What are your favorite color combinations for Spring?
Happy weekend everyone! Pin It

Fashion Necklaces
For your Monday morning viewing pleasure...two recent creations!
The first necklace features one of those ultra cool vintage brass number plates that was originally on a door of a hotel room. Hence the name- Second floor, Room 140! I also incorporated some beautiful old hollowglass beads, vintage faux pearls and glass parts that were from a chandelier in a former life. It is a nice long necklace....guaranteed to spark some interesting conversation. This one was selected to go to the Art Gallery in Olds, Alberta.
The second necklace is a mulri strand design in blue, white and yellow.
This statement fashion necklace features a variety of wonderful vintage beads, blue lapis stone, chandelier crystals, chain and a rescued vintage brooch ...so pretty! This one is available for purchase in my Etsy shop.

I have to admit, I am a bit of a shoe freak.
I have an insane weakness for fashion of the foot.
I think the shoe styles of this past year have been phenomenal! The designs are so creative. I am loving all the strappy details, ( a-la "caged look") the peep toe, and the open -toe - worn- with tights look is so cool.
I adore the "bootie" styles, the mesh and cutouts that are hot for Spring, the textures, romantic velvets and lace, the hardware detailing.
And even although I will never be able to afford a pair of coveted Valentino or Jimmy Choo Shoes...one can always dream!
It is February, and I am tired of wearing my boots. Pin It
