Too many numbers!

Remember the good old days, when the only set of numbers that you had to remember was your telephone number? Then came automated banking, and we had to have a PIN number for our access card. So how many PIN numbers and passwords do you have to keep track of now? Is there an end in sight to this madness? I have profiles and passwords for online shopping, my Etsy shop, Facebook, this blog, email accounts, Amazon, special interest clubs, Itunes, banking, credit cards now have PIN numbers AND passwords. My home alarm system has a PIN number and a password. I am going crazy trying to keep track of them all! Why can't someone invent a foolproof system so that we don't have to have all of these numbers to remember? With an aging population, I think something needs to be done soon....before we all lose our minds!

Oh I agree my friend!!! And now there is a CHIP number to remember for my cards ~ Pin and CHIP?? Honestly. And we have keyless entry to our house so we have a number for that as well.

And you can't keep all your numbers stored in your smartphone or computer or even a notebook. What if you lost it??

sigh...
there really must be a simpler way.

Good post!

Here's a trick my oh so computer savy bf taught me: have two pins. One is numeric for those purposes, and the other is a random combo of stuff that you can remember for a random reason like- each key above it on the keyboard spells out something meaningful to you, so it's still cryptic but easier to remember. THEN- keep that same main sequence, but add the venue to the end of it for each different place i.e. Rdwq6xmoney for bank and Rdwq6xsell for etsy or something like that. Make sense?

I totally have too many numbers in my head! I had to tell someone my phone number the other day and I had to think about it. I think it's going to get way worse before it gets better though!

I have a little rolodex by my computer with all my passwords and such. I'm sure that is probably not safe, but I'm not sure what else to do at this point. If we get broken into, I'm sure that is going to be the least of my worries.
