What does Nigella Lawson, and my jukebox got to do with eachother? Well, for Fathers Day this weekend, I am converting our basement family room into "The Daddy-O Diner". We are lucky enough to have a working 1958 Rock-ola juke box, so we can play all our cool 45 records! We have tunes ranging from the 1950's up to the 1980's on it, Elvis, Patsy Cline, Beatles, Stones, Beach Boys,etc. so there is a good variety. I am serving barbequed hamburgers, and we are making ice cream sundaes with homemade chocolate peanut butter sauce. I got the idea for these amazing sundaes from the domestic goddess herself, Nigella Lawson, that very sexy British cooking lady, that makes sinful food look... well ...guilt free! If she looks that good, I will make it and eat it, and look great too!! I am going to use my vintage sundae glasses, and vintage drink glasses, and I will make some cool decorations. We have 4 children, ages, 10, 18, 28 and 31, a son -in -law, and 2 grandaughters, ages 2 and 9, so it should be a blast! I am going to see if the kids can put away the cell phones, and video games for an afternoon..(good luck with that one!) and we will play some old fashioned board games, and maybe I will even break out the Twister game! Anyway I think it will be a fun way for the kids to celebrate with their Dads! And ..no Dad does NOT get a visit from Nigella!
